Charlton Athletic are chasing the signature of Plymouth Argyle defender Krisztian Timar.
A national newspaper has reported that Championship rivals Charlton want to sign the Hungarian international centre-back.
The 28-year old defender has one-year left on his current contract at Home Park but is close to agreeing a new improved deal with the Pilgrims'. However, Charlton manager Alan Pardew could tempt Timar with a move to The Valley by offering a better financial package.
Argyle have recently lost one Hungarian when Peter Halmosi moved to Hull City last week in a reported Ł2.5 million transfer and Argyle boss Paul Sturrock will be desperate to keep Timar, who is set to become Argyle's new captain.
Timar joined Argyle in May 2007 for a bargain Ł75,000 after completing a 3-month loan spell.
