Timar initially joined Argyle on loan from Ferencvaros. A central defender, Krisztian is a former Hungarian under-18 international and has also played for Nyiregyhaza, Tatabanya, Videoton, BKV Elore and MTK Budapest in Hungary and Jokerit in Finland. Timar had a short trial period at Bournemouth in 2004 but suffered a knee ligament injury in a friendly and returned home to recover. Polish side Wisla Krakow were also interested in signing him, but he chose to move to Plymouth. After impressing during his loan spell, Krisztian moved on a permanent transfer to Home Park at the end of the season, for a fee of Ł75,000. In his first full season at the club Timar became an automatic choice at centre-back and was named the Player of the Season. He also ended the campaign as captain. |
